You probably won't be able to remove those stains. Use glass containers. LocknLock is not as wonderful as they claim.

@GrandmaRose Try baking soda on a dampened cloth. I removed a stain on a Formica countertop using it.

As long as the tomato stain is just from storing sauce in the plastic bowl, filling the bowl with water and a bit of bleach and letting it sit several hours may remove the stain.
If you made the mistake of heating spaghetti sauce in that bowl, then the stain will probably be there when you toss the bowl.
Regardless of what is said when this brand is advertised, I do not agree with using these bowls in the microwave or using an electric mixer in them, as heat will damage the inside of the bowl, and the beaters from a mixer will leave permanent scratches.

I like Lock n Lock. But some foods especially anything with tomato sauce will permanently stain the plastic. This includes: spaghetti sauce& chili. Other problem foods are: soy sauce, bar b q. If stain not too embedded try clorox.

I just got a barbecue stain in mine last night. I get tomato stains all of the time. They don't bother me, because I don't pamper them. I had a stain in one a while back, and after using it a bunch I noticed it had faded some. ![]()

Totally agree ~ it stains ~ all the things y'all mentioned plus I've even had tea stain.

Since I bought Pyrex Snapware, I haven't had that problem. I don't remember staining my Lock n Lock. But I remember staining my Tupperware numerous times. I would put my Tupperware in the dishwasher and the dishwasher got rid of the stains.
I ended up putting everything in the dishwasher to get it clean.

I haven't tried this trick yet, but I heard that you should put warm water in your container and then drop in a denture cleaning tablet (like a Polident tab, etc.) and let it sit overnight, then wash and dry the next day.
Supposedly it really works, but again I haven't tried it myself yet! I'll try and remember to stop back in here and let you know my results after I do. ![]()

I put a generous squirt of Dawn dishwashing liquid and hot water in my Lock n Lock and let soak over night. Then I scrub with a Scrub Dddy. Works for me.
