Re: Cleaning back splash behind stove

It can be cleaned with pretty much any cleanser that is not abrasive.  Wash it with Dawn which will cut the grease build up.

drizzella. i buy grease lightning. it works really well. spray it on. give it like 10 mnutes and scrub it off. works very well. cleans stove well. i spray it on baked on pans and it helps them come clean easy. you can buy a spray bottle of it in super market or lowes sells it in a gallon for 8 bucks. it works on alot of stuff. i even use it on wood cabinets and it doesnt ruin wood or anything else. good luck.

I agree with @silkyk - you can use almost any cleaning agent, but using Mr. Clean's Magic Erasers will make the job much easier. I've never had Magic Erasers fail to do any cleaning job - nothing like them!

Formica gets sticky when dirty/greasy. That's why I think Dawn and hot water might be a good place to start.

It must be me, but Magic Erasers have never worked.

Oh and the poster who said she doesn't fry so the backsplash remains clean. I don't fry either, but my stove top and backsplash get dirty. Don't get it.

I rarely fry. But it seems whenever my husband does the cooking - there is splatter every where. On the counter, the canisters, tea pot, you name it. But he does much of the cooking now - so I deal with the cleaning.

I love Mean green or lightening grease  remover but got to know what backsplash you have got to read that some are not good for different finishes. Also if you have a microwave above stove clean out those filters they get greasy too. I put them in my dishwasher.
