If you see one in a store --just keep on going. I wish I had. The small compact size was what I liked. I did buy one. I'll bet the infomercial guy that looks like a wrestler had to use all of his strength to 'chop' with that. I found it impossible to use with my hands. I mainly wanted something to make professional French fries /sweet potato fries. So I put it on the floor and use my foot Smiley Happy. I put a paper towel on top to have between my shoe and the top. It works --but really!! This item is a piece of_______ (fill in your own derogative word.)

Do any of the other devices mentioned here cut French fries (easily) ?

I know the Ninja company makes an attachment to go on one model for FF but it costs about $50. last time I looked.

HI Okay, I have one of those manual cutters , like this one on Amazon:

Culina French Fry Potato Cutter with Round Bottom for Easy Slicing, Stainless Steel
They are only about $20 mine came with a couple of different size blades. I've never had a problem with it. I find it eqsy to use and clean. There are several different brands available on Amazon. You can google French Fry Cutter and come up with other ones, too. I've found that Russett potatoes glide through very easily
I've even cut ham and spam with it. I push trhe meat through and make sticks which I cut into cubes. I've nery put a block of cheese though it, but I'd be it'd makes good cheese sticks.

There is also a similar cutter on a site called Henry Fields it is called French Fry & Vegetable Cutter
Makes quick and easy french fries!

and is only $12.50, don't know what shipping costs are.

I hope you find just the right tool for your fries.
