Not to stir this up again (no pun intended) but I caught CT this weekend. His nails were clean, but I couldn't believe how long they were. If he plays flamenco guitar I get it, otherwise the makeup people should cut them if he won't.

They way the hosts eat is disgusting too.

Maybe they should all wear protective gloves.

I can not help but wonder how many posters wear gloves when preparing food for others.

When preparing food for "others" I am constantly washing my hands as well as my counter.
The other day Bobby Chez used his bare hands to cut & pass a crab cake to the hostess. He did say, "please excuse me for using my hands."
I've always "assumed" that the demo foods are given to the camera crew and/or the studio audience.
However, I do agree that the vendors as well as the host/hostess should be wearing gloves when preparing food. Or at least washing their hands when handling poultry along w/other food items.

As for Tony's nails if he does wood working and uses stains, it is possible he does not wear protective gloves so the stain can soak in under the nails and that is really difficult to remove, but again wearing latex gloves would be best so nothing can come in contact with the hands, and the food being prepared.
No, I can't get behind the suggestion that they should all be suited up with gloves and a hair net. To me, that would be extremely weird and unappetizing to watch.
Please don't worry about the food they handle. I doubt that it is any different from the food we cook and serve at home. Most people do wash their hands before prepping. They probably do that out of camera view.
And if coworkers or audience members have any qualms about eating the food, they'll decline.
