Very expensive for cheesecake, but I had eaten Jrs. pumpkin cheesecake several years ago at Grand Central and it was the best ever.

Think about it. Cheesecake is heavy, needs to be protected, and kept cool. This makes it  very expensive to package and ship.  Most of us have good sources for less expensive cheesecake but some posters have said they live in very rural areas with few options. They may appreciate being able to buy this as a treat.

I really never liked cheesecake before I tried Junior's.    It seemed like every recipe I saw, before that, had sour cream in it and that just grossed me out.

I like the list of ingredients in Junior's, and of course the lack of sour cream so, as long as a cheesecake uses those ingredients and is extremely well whipped, as theirs are, I tend to like it.

There seems to be a myth that cheesecake is scary and hard to make.  I have a Mr. FOOD RECIPE WHERE YOU JUST DUMP EVERYTHING INTO A FOOD PROCESSOR, then into a big pie plate and bake it.  One of the simplest desserts.  Make it any flavor or add any topping you like.

The best cheesecake recipe ,I've ever made ,is from the VINCENT PRICE COOKBOOK. Also, the best stuffed cabbage.

A few weeks ago a new supermarket ( to our area) opened called FOODTOWN. in this week's flyer they advertise a 24 oz. Junior's cheesecake for $16.99.

Remember that Junior's makes the "NY style" cheesecake.  It's really rich and dense, and not everyone cares for that.  It's a specific recipe for a specific cake.  Also, there's only so much you can eat in one sitting, so if a regular Junior's cake is only for a couple of people, it will go a very long way.  I've made cheesecake, too, but it wasn't the Junior's variety.

If your interested, Juniors has a few cookbooks with their recipes and I've made their cheesecake before, including their sponge base. It was good. It sure wasn't hard to make.

I agree.  But I'm glad to hear the economy is good enough that some people can afford this price; but not in my area.
