@KathyM23 I'm hooked on roasted cauliflower with chili oil and tossed over red pepper hummus. I was making it every weekend.

@songbird I buy the cauliflower crust two at a time at Costco....I use Rao's as a topper with roasted veggies (mushrooms, onions, and bell peppers), a heavy hand with vegan mozzarella/Parmesan and kalamata olives. A favorite in our home! I also use the cauliflower rice as a base in some of my recipes. I know it's not the same...but I've found a way to make it tasty!

Amazing that nobody looked it up so I went online to see what the problem may be:
"A shortage due to high temperatures and low rainfall where cauliflower grows in the US—California’s Imperial Valley and near Yuma, Arizona—has caused wholesale prices to more than double, according to US Department of Agriculture data. Wholesale prices passed $4 per head."

Yes, we have a difficult time finding it here in NC also. Pretty much we eat frozen florets, frozen mashed or frozen riced. It seems to go bad so quickly.

I'm planning to start tomorrow at the green market near by, but really have no idea exactly where some of the participating farmers have their fields. Fingers crossed somewhere so that they weren't flooded.

I told my husband about the cauliflower shortage I had read about on here. His response was "good!" I love it and he doesn't.

For individuals who are gluten intolerant, cauliflower is a great alternative in pizza dough, etc. Seeing how much cauliflower is being used in frozen foods, I wondered if a shortage was in the future.
By the way, I looked for organic iceberg lettuce, the heads were so light I refused to purchase. Making taco salad, it would have been too skimpy.

That and broccoli are close to 1 and 2 on the hate veggie list. Not surprised. They are bitter foods. Bitter food have always been considered good for you, but rarely eaten. My husband despises them both. Not allowed as part of any meal for him.
