Okay, I do feel dumb asking this.  I'm using my new dishwasher for the first time.  Using Cascade Pods.  Never used a pod before.  The pod just gets placed in the compartment (not opened), right?  After the cycle is complete, is the "plastic wrapper" dissolved?  Do I have to open that compartment and get it out?

The gel pack dissolves.

Not a dumb question.  There are a lot of things I don't know until I try it!

Just put the pod in the dispenser as is.  Yes, the plastic wrapper will dissolve and no, you don't have to open the compartment to get it out.  The compartment will be empty at the end of the cycle.

@ScrapHappy

I used some Finish powerball packs. They are not liquid but compressed powder with a red circle on top.

I used to just hate unwrapping those dern things as it was so hard to do.  Well..........

turns out they are not to be unwrapped, just put in the dispenser.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

No wonder I had such a hard time with them!

I used that too.  Forgot to buy it today when I was at Costco.

I've been using Cascade Platinum ACTIONPACS (pods) in lemon scent for many years with no problems.

Good luck on your new dishwasher. I don't know if you read your manual that came with it but most new dishwashers have filters that need to be cleaned. If your not sure just read your manual and it will tell you. When you put detergent pod into the detergent place make sure its dry.sometimes loading the dishwasher will get detergent dispenser wet and when pod gets wet it doesn't always drop out as easy. i just dry it with a cloth.I only just noticed that recently watching loading the dishwasher on

Utube. I have learned Alot about dishwashers watching those videos. What kind of dishwasher did you get and good luck with it.
