You can add so many things to your large mixing bowl. A pastry cutter, Cookie cut-outs, a pastry brush, so many special things chosen by you!

@Etoile308  Thanks.   We have no Michael's or JoAnns here either.   There is a Hobby Lobby about 50 miles from here and they do have cake decorating stuff.  I can check there next time I go..THX..DW

@dancingwoman

Add a silicone spatula to the mix, there's nothing more than I liked to have my very own spatula and not use mom's.

Wish you were my neighbor.

I'm looking for a good cake decorating kit with a good assortment of supplies.  It's for my 14yr neighbor for Christmas.  I know Wilton is a good brand but their kits seem limited compared to others on Amazon.

Any suggestions would be appreciated..Two years ago her mother and I went together and got her a kitchen aid mixer.  She uses the heck out of it...always baking.  Thanks DW

I took a cake decorating class decades ago.  I bought Wilton brand supplies and they're still treating me well.

Wilton can be purchased at Walmart also.  The Walmart near me sells a large selection of Wilton products.

Definitely buy Wilton!  If it was me, I'd buy from Amazon and I start with a 22 piece starter set, a decorating chart ( show which tips do what) , decorating course book #1, and about four jars of concentrated color.  Maybe Mom could do part of this?  Cake decorating is addictive and she'll thank you for the rest of her days.  If she gets into this, there are items you can add as long as you continue to gift her.

@patbz  Thanks.  That 22pc set looks like a great starter set for her.  DW

Hobby Lobby has an entire asile of Wilton and other cake decorating supplies. Tons of it. I am sure you could put together your own kit or buy one there....this young lady sounds like a serious baker! I strongly reommend Wilton; it's high quality and she will have it forever.

@Duckncover  Thanks..next time we head out to Sams and  Lowe's I'll stop at Hobby Lobby.  It's a little ways from where we live so we don't head out there too often...DW

@dancingwoman : Please check sites on line for stores not in your area and look for the on line available coupons. I shop on line since I don't drive and always look for the on line specials and coupons.
