HSN is selling ground beef ,endorsed by CS, from Thomas Harris Farms
for $13/lb.
Starting tomorrow ShopRite Supermarkets is offering the CS/TH beef on sale for $2.99/lb regularly $3.99/lb.
I don't mind paying for convenience but that is absurd !

I think the beef that Curtis sells comes from Australia. I suppose you have to pay a heavy price for that plane ticket.
For that price, I'd just take a vacation in Australia and eat the beef over there. It would be much more enjoyable. Scheech.

And for often $5.99 to $6.99 you can get some expectional ground beef! Go to a local butcher and get a better grade of meat and have them grind up a roast or steaks to your specifications. Or buy it yourself and grind it in a grinder attachment for a KitchenAid mixer or even in a food processor.
Ground beef should be as good as a good steak! You don't have settle for the pre-packaged stuff supermarkets sell.

It does come from Australia @Carmie and IMO is inedible....I bought steaks once from Australia and the flavor was so unpleasant, to say the least, that I tossed them and vowed never again .

I was going to start a thread and then found this one so thought I would add what I found today.
If you live around the Meijer grocery chain they now carry Curtis Stone's ground beef in about six different seasonings (I bought taco, chipotle, caramelized onion and korean bbq). Right now they are buy 1, get 1 free for $5.99 so at $3 a pound I thought I would take a chance but if you are in the area of one you may want to take a look.

Whole Foods had 90 percent lean excellent beef for $4.99 a pound for prime members last week. I bought a few pounds to freeze some, we cooked some, and it was excellent!

That's what we do. We have been using chuck roast & top sirloin. Going to mess around with it & add some beef short ribs & try with some brisket added to it.
