Thank you all for the reviews.  I'm purchasing the set and I looked underneath it's made in USA.

No more heaving crazy lifting and bubble wrapping piece by piece.  I'm getting plain frosty white like so many suggested.  One can change out colors of napkins, etcetera, candles, flowers for special occasions.

You are all correct!Woman Very Happy (I'm moving and thats when I realized enough is enough of this oh so very sharp looking heavy pottery which was just great to look it and that was it. This whole set will take a box that one can carry, yay!

Google Corelle dishes containing lead.  You will find that Corelle dishes with a pattern made prior to 2005 contain lead (something to do with lead in the paint used for the pattern).

Plain white Corelle dishes supposedly do not contain lead.

There's conflicting info as to whether there was a formal recall on these dishes or not.

I had Corelle dishes in two patterns, Meadow and Summer Blush, until about 5 years ago, when I found out about this and got rid of them.

Both of these patterns are now discontinued, according to Replacements.com.

I replaced these dishes with a set from Fitz and Floyd.  While I like them, I do miss the thinness of the Corelle.

@Pink123  A few months ago I got rid of my heavy dishes for the very same reason.  I purchased 3 sets of 12 pc place settings for 4 of the all white dishes that were on sale at Sam's Club.  They are wonderfully light and fit beautifully in the dishwasher.  I do realize that they are glass and will shatter if dropped on my tile floor, but I am really careful and hopefully it won't be an issue.  The set has a nice large dinner plate with a slightly upturned rim, a salad/sandwich plate (that is actually big enough for me to use as a dinner plate), and a round cereal/soup bowl.  I am really pleased with them.

I had a set that I owned for 25+ years and I think I only had one dessert plate that got broken.  Last summer, I purchased the trendy square dinner plates (large and small) along with bowls from Target.  I love them but they are REALLY heavy and I kind of have buyer's remorse.  I added my Corelle set  in when we had my mom's estate sale last fall.

I think you'll really like them.  I kind of wish I had just gotten a new set of Corelle with a different design now but I'm going to use those new dishes from Target for several years before I change over to Corelle or something else.

I have a set of Corelle dinnerware that I've used for around 10 years.

It was made in USA and is breakproof as it states on the bottom of the plates.

I love them.

I was given 2- 8 place settings for a wedding gift in 1975 and still have many pieces that I use all the time. Very few ever broke but a few shattered into a milion pieces too. I used them everyday until about 10 years ago--I got tired of them and started buying fiestaware--and then I got a divorced 4 years ago and decided to purge  myself of all things pertaining to that event---I did like how lightweight and durable they are, but love the colors and heft of the F-Ware. Have seen the more modern patterns that I like in corelle. Mine were white with a navy pattern around the rim. May try to sell them too.

Love Corelle dinnerware.  I've had a few different patterns sets over several decades, and now use the Pure White Square Dinner set.  Very light weight and durable.

Hi, all thanks for all your great reviews and I am sold.

I wanted to ask so now what do I use for a coffee cup?  I'm getting (frosty white) and would like the setting to look nice.

I went to their site and they sell mugs only.  Not light as the dishware.  Thats a bummer but I think they said they are not these heavy white pottery mugs I have now.

Has anyone purchased a coffee mug from Corelle?  I see they manufacture them in Corning New York.

I will purchase as long as it's not as thick as this pottery business. lol.

@CoffeeNut   I own one of the salad plates you have and also a cereal pasta, soup bowl.  purchased two to test.  I think I also might not need a dinner plate as this plate almost does it all. Thanks forr the idea.

I have service for 8 from the 80's.  Still use it and beautiful.  Lace Bouquet. Not going to jinx myself on breakage!  My sets back then was a dinner plate, salad bowl, coffee cup and saucer.  I never used the saucers.  Love it, and still love the pattern all these years later.  Cream with tiny blue flowers.
