Most of those depend on what part of the country you are from. Having lived in Texas for a number of years, I know that putting beans in chili is practically a sin. Having grown up in Ohio, I know that chili can contain beans and can also be served with pasta. There are a million varieties but I prefer fairly thick, smooth (no big chunks of tomato), very spicy (but so I can still taste it) with beans (because I like them).
