I have a cookie recipe that uses canola oil. Can I use vegetable or olive oil in its' place?

If you are going to substitute for canola oil in a cookie recipe, i suggest using another flavorless oil like vegetable oil and not olive oil. Olive oil has too much flavor in my opinion.

When Canola Oil became a thing we bought it.  It was banned from my house because I can't stand the smell of it once it was heated up.

YES.... Canola oil is a man made oil with many deadly chemicals in it.

Please change. Love olive oil to cook with and taste.

I would use Olive oil as it's one of the healthiest and doesnt cause inflammation in the body. So many oils are unhealthy. I have used it to bake cakes and I can't taste it at all and they always come out moist and delicious.

Canola oil is oil from a variant of the rapeseed plant.  It is processed but not a man made chemical. Natural oils are extracted and processed (filtered,etc.)

A good olive oil shouldn't have a nasty taste.  We use them all the time--I even add a few drops to oatmeal in place of butter.  Get a good extra virgin olive oil and use it up before it goes rancid.

I only use olive oil.  Buy the light or extra light version for baking if you don't want to taste it.  Light olive oil is tasteless.

It's a better choice than canola oil.

Canola oil is junk and inflammatory.  Replace with a better flavorless oil.  My recommendation is avocado oil

I used canola oil for years because it was touted as being healthy. I switched to avocado and grape seed to replace it when I learned how unhealthy it is.  It makes me feel that I can't trust what I read because the recommendations often change.
