C E Perfect Cooker on clearance

$19.96, no shipping

There seems to be plenty of 5 star reviews.

On the low reviews, do you think people just didn't follow directions?

I may order anyway.

Re: C E Perfect Cooker on clearance

Does anybody really use this thing on a regular basis?   I use it so seldom, between uses I forget how to use it, how much water, how much rice or pasta.  I made an omelet once; it was okay but it took 50 minutes.  I can whip one up on the stove and be eating it in 10 minutes.

I think this is just another silly gadget.

I have one and used it quite often until I found the CE 2qt pressure cooker on sale.  I honestly haven't used it since, the small pressure cooker is great. I make pasta or mashed potatoes in 7 minutes, can't beat that.

Don't laugh but can you make rice in a pressure cooker?

What about oatmeal?

I would never laugh @software, it's a good question!  Honestly I don't like rice or oatmeal so I don't know.  But now I want to know too! Heart

[ Edited ]

A poster recently gave directions for making rice in a range mate.  I've used that.  I make oatmeal in a large Sistema container and have also made rice there.  You can use the pressure cooker only when you have an adequate supply of liquid.  With rice and oatmeal the grains absorb the liquid so the PC is not suitable.

@software, I make oatmeal and Cream of Wheat in the microwave right in a 4cup glass Pyrex measuring cup.
That's ONE serving in a 4cup capacity because it bubbles up so high during cooking a smaller vessel is too small.

Good heavens, what are you putting in your oatmeal? Baking powder?  I cook 1 cup of oatmeal in a Sistema cup which is about 15 Oz.  I cook it with almond milk.   Never comes close to boiling over.
