i wear a bib style chef's apron i got from restaurant supply 30+ yrs ago.  it shows lots of battle scars.   remember the hearts and ducks decor?  i stenciled a blue heart and checkerboard pattern at the top.

@Tweety68  I'm in my 50's now, but when I was a young girl my Mom would sew us matching aprons and I remember even then thinking that was the coolest thing.  Thanks for this post, which brought back that great memory!

I have an apron wardobe, because I am  so messy in the kithcen and also when I eat. Why does the food always wind up on my apron? Well, better that than on my clothes.

My grandma 's the same, One was named Stella, and the other Julia. Loved watching them both cook. Julia baked the best birthday cakes for me.

My Memere wore an apron while cooking, my Mom wore an apron while cooking, and so do I.  I hate stained clothing!
