🎃 Baking Urge 🍎

It's chilly and nonstop raining , so I got the urge to bake. I baked 2 loaves of apple and 2 loaves of pumpkin bread. I don't do it often, but it was fun and and the kitchen smells wonderful. What have you baked lately ?

I'd love to, but my freezer is full. I am trying to weed out what is in there but it's a slow process.

Mmmmm. Love how the house smells after baking anything apple or pumpkin.

I have a can of pumpkin in my cabinet and was thinking about making a pumpkin bread (was more like "cake" but tasty) I made last year...gotta dig out the recipe. You've inspired me. I think I better finish my "closet project" I started first. lol.

Only thing I baked was corn muffins the other day. It was a cornbread mix I bought at Fresh Market...followed directions, have made them before...they're just ok. Kinda heavy (maybe it's because I need new baking soda??) And while I don't like super sweet "cupcakey" muffins, these are really almost tasteless. I won't buy this mix again.

I'm a good cook, but a real novice baker. Some things come great, (Ina Garten's apple crisp is great, btw), others are always an experiment. I'm by no means a "baker", but every now and then I like to give it a go.

So...all that said...if I can find that pumpkin recipe, that'll be much better.

Last Friday, I baked keto cheesecake brownies and make a keto candy concoction. We're having lunch company Thursday so I'll probably make some blueberry cheesecake fluff.

My cousins and I get together weekly for dinner, and I always volunteer to make a dessert as I love to bake. I've made molasses cookies, chocolate chip, several varieties of brownies, pumpkin dip, and many other creations. As soon as I can get to the store to pick up some apples, I will be making an apple crisp.

I bake all the time. I give them to people as gifts. Yesterday I gave some pumpkin cream cheese bread to a relative due to the loss of her sister- in -law.

I have a few other breads and treats in the freezer but I have to bake some more as I give baked goods for the holidays and I bring the desserts for the meals.

I've been on a baking spree lately. Our granddaughter is living with us while she attends college and she loves to bake. Pumpkin and Banana bread have been a constant and also chocolate chip cookies.

My fondest childhood memories are those times I spent in the kitchen with my grandmother learning to cook and bake. She was an incredible cook and baker. So, the times I spend with my granddaughter are making wonderful and timeless memories for both of us. I cherish every moment.

Plus, with the weather turning cold, you will usually find us in the kitchen making a pot of some type of comforting soup. We are truly blessed.❤️

I have been on an Apple kick. I make fried apples and baked apples a lot. On Friday, I made some Apple fritters. The week before last, I made two apple pies

This week so far, I made nothing sweet. Just not in the mood.

My DH asked yesterday to go shopping for pumpkins. He wants to make sure we don't run out of pumpkin purée his winter. I have to check my freezer.

We do not use canned pumpkin. Fresh tastes so much different and a million times better.
