Can anyone tell me how good this good...does it really smooth out foods, such as a veggie soup. I make a broccoli soup, and also a red pepper soup that I have to cook, then put in my blender to sort of puree it ...then all back in the pot.
Would an immersion blender work as well?

It’s probably my most favorite kitchen appliance. I stick it in a pot of bean soup for a few secs, and voila, nice and thick soup! Smooths out gravy. Don’t get me started on drinks...margaritas, shakes, smoothies. Pop off the blade part and drop it in the dishwasher. No muss or fuss. Love it!

Yes, it is great for making soups smooth as long as ingredients are well cooked. I use it on split pea soup and lumpy gravy.
I have one that has worked for years--an inexpensive white plastic thing. Get one, you will like it.

There was another thread regarding this subject...consensus is they are a wonderful kitchen tool. As result of my inquiry several days ago, I researched models and purchased a Braun immersion blender. Very happy with its construction and function.

Yes I do use one that I bought from HSN prob 25 years ago that is needing to be replaced. I use it alot---does a great job smoothing out things and blending right in the pot/pan. Not sure which brand will buy--the one I have now is called DO-IT-ALL. Had a bunch of accessories too that I hardly used.

Be sure the one you get has a guard for the blades so they don't touch your pots. You will love it!

I'M SOLD!!! Please recommend brands. I've been researching , and saw some that scratch up the pots, and also some that are difficult to handle(think kitchenaide).
Thank you all....ill look foward to getting this!

@Dazlin I have a Cuisinart brand set that I got from Costco. It came with a cup that I can make homemade mayonnaise in a flash. Don't forget butternut squash soup! ![]()
