Freezers on bottom? Only if you seldom use the freezer. Bending over to search or store items, not for me. Prefer freezer on top.

French doors? Not for me. Prefer a one door.  Good luck.

I have AP & Bread flour in the bottom part of the freezer in our kitchen. On the top basket of the freezer I have ice cubes plus fruits I use for smoothies.

I keep all the meat in storage bins by date in the large freezer we have in the garage.

We have to defrost it ourself which keeps the food from getting thaw/re-frozen over & over like the freezer does on a refrigerator.

Re: Any Thoughts on Refrigerators?

We had a 35 year old refrigerator in our home that finally gave up the ghost this year. (It was here when we moved in.)

I was SO HAPPY to purchase a new fridge--side-by-side is the ONLY style I really love.

No stooping over, or standing on tiptoes, and no need to have stuff pile up all over without organization in a top or bottom freezer.

My new fridge has NO icemaker--we still do it the old fashioned way from little plastic trays. Also we avoid all the water hose problems.  It gives us a whole extra shelf!

We purchased a Maytag with fingerprint proof stainless steel.  So far it is wonderful!

Have fun shopping!

We have our first freezer on the bottom.  With the way it's configured (not the way it was in the store or what the salesperson told me) we can't get a full sized frozen pizza in it.

Re: Any Thoughts on Refrigerators?

Funny this topic should come up...I recently purchased all new appliances for a move and I can tell you right now, steer away from Samsung!  Sometimes, my refrigerator sounds like it is ''alive''/ breathing !  It is not a quiet refrigerator at all ...and by the way, the Samsung stove had a recall on it because the knobs on the front could be easily turned on by just brushing up against it...almost caused a fire in the house 3 times within 2 weeks...so they sent out little clips to go behind the knobs to prevent that from happening...not a fan of that either, having to struggle to 'unclip' the control knob every time before cooking. Live and learn.

For what it's worth, I belong to several "home" groups on FB, and over and over again, people say to stay away from LG and Samsung.  I know there can be lemons in any product line or a person may have an LG or Samsung with which s/he has never had problems, but overall, avoid these two brands.

I've read about lots of problems with Lg refrigerators. Even Consumer Reports says that it's not reliable, but customers still buy them.

NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG!  Awful.  Ice makers never work for more than a few months and then they can't be repaired.  Company won't do anything.  Appliance repair guy told us they are the worst.

I don't have that problem with the LG bottom freezer but mine is not a newish one.  Mine is several years older.  So, even if you have an LG, the freezers may be configured different. I can get much more in my bottom freezer than the one I have in my laundry room which is almond colored that is 30 years old which is wonderful because it has outlasted many marriages but I could no longer live with almond in my stainless kitchen.  So it went to the laundry room (I had another almond, older and smaller in the laundry room which I put in the shop with my children's dorm-size fridge).  We had 15 people in our family when I did that.  We are now down to 13 but when we have outdoor cookouts or sit outside to eat, we have plenty room to put food out there so we don't have to come back and forth inside.  I cannot believe how much better these American made appliances were than the newer models and I am shocked that my LG has lasted so long.  Knocking on wood.  I have had 4 dishwashers since 2000.  Before that I had had the almond colored one 15 years.

I have an LG French door which is okay but I made sure to buy a counter depth one.  I hate how so many stick way out beyond the counters.

Yes it's a bit smaller but we also have a full sized fridge and a chest freezer in the garage.
