Any Thoughts on Refrigerators?

Looking at a new fridge soon, so any thoughts are appreciated!  We will probably do a French door, freezer on the bottom, and are looking for one that is quiet, and nicely made on the inside.

We are thinking about an LG, or something along those lines.  We have a Electrolux that came new with the house, and have had no problems for 8 years, whew!, but not crazy about the inside of it.

Thanks for any advice or likes and don't likes!

Before we moved I had a Kenmore with single door on top and pull out freezer in the bottom.  I loved it.  But since we downsized it will not fit in the fridge space.  So it went with the house.   The very old used fridge died here during the summer and I searched the web quite extensively and I could not find one I liked that would fit the space.  We happened to find a old fridge for $200 & we bought it so in a couple of months I will be fridge shopping again.  I will get another Kenmore if they will fit.  I have had that brand all my adult life and have never had one go belly up on me.

Sorry Im not much help.  Good luck with your search.

If you are a member of Costco, you can get good deals on their appliances. They offer two year warranty, delivery and installation, haul away and basic installation parts. Many places charge for all these extras. I really like LG appliances.

We have the french door freezer on the bottom, my brother worked on appliances and always recommended the freezer on the bottom.  Have had issues with our samsung ice maker though.

We had an LG Frenchdoor, freezer on the bottom, water and ice thru the door and loved it. The icemaker kept failing- after replacing it 5 times they refunded us the entire amount of the fridge and we bought a Samsung. Three years later it is still going good (Knock on wood!)

I have french door on top and freezer on bottom.  I hate it.  The produce drawers freeze all the produce no matter what setting.  It is a GE.  I have bottom drawer freezer with one door on top in another home and love it.  Not sure if the french doors have anything to do with the freezing of produce drawer or not.  I keep bottled water in the drawers, waste of space.

Freezers on bottom? Only if you seldom use the freezer. I'm in the freezer many times during the day.  Bending over to search or store items, not for me. Prefer freezer on top.

French doors? Not for me. Prefer a one door.  Good luck.

We purchased the exact refrigerator you are describing @Sooner ....LG French Door Freezer on bottom.  We have had it for a few years ...no problems!  Plenty of room. I was concerned about having freezer on bottom.  It is not a problem at all...holds quite a bit.   I LOVE this refrigerator!  We did not get the water/ice maker thinking it would only have problems.  Don't miss it at all.  Good luck with your decision.

I bought a french door GE Profile PWE23KSKSS 3 yrs ago when we remodeled our kitchen.

We don't use the filtered water dispenser inside the refrigerator or the ice maker in the freezer.

It is pretty quiet. I do hear it here & there but it's not noisy.

We use a reverse osmosis system. There is a facuet on the sink plus I keep 2-3 gallons in the refrigerator.

The fingerprint technology on it works. No fingerprints or smudges. I clean with a microfiber cloth.

It has freezer on bottom.

We have 2 refrigerators. The old one is a 23 year old Whirpool still running.

Don't buy an LG with a Linear compressor on it. Online it says they still use it on some refrigerators? Google about their lawsuit.

Kenmore was also making their refrigerators with the LG linear compressor. It says they no longer use it. We almost bought an LG until my SIL told us about her LG nightmare?

I did look at reviews before we bought our appliances. Most are not good. I had to take a chance we would receive working appliances.

@m0rgan We have not had any problem with the produce drawers at all.  Matter of fact they have worked great.  And this is a cheap fridge I think.  I will say my mom bought a GE fridge, probably close to 20 years ago and hated it.  She didn't keep it long and had all sorts of issues, and finally replaced it.  But that was long ago.
