I've been considering buying one.  I have done some research and read a lot of reviews, but the reviews can be so mixed.  I'm a little confused and still unsure what brand and model to buy.

Do you own an air fryer that you can either recommend or not recommend?  Thanks!

Re: Air Fryer recommendations?

I recently went through the same thing you're experiencing.  Most people think the one they have is the best, and there are some people who have had more than one brand who can weigh in more accurately.  For me, it came down to size (I wanted the biggest drawer-type I could get), and it had to be easy to clean on the inside.  Phillips is supposed to be the best, but I didn't want to spend $300 on something I might end up not using much.  So about a month ago, the shopping channel Evine had a today's special on the brand new Paula Deen 8.5 qt. air fryer.  To my knowledge, it is the biggest drawer-type fryer out there.  It has a ceramic non-stick interior vs. a teflon-type interior.  I watched several of the presentations and purchased it.

It is just my husband and me, but I can't imagine having one with a smaller interior. The one basket system and uber non-stick ceramic interior is the bomb. It is such a nice looking unit and quiet, as well. For me, the downfall is the analog controls and weird temp settings with 45-degree increments between the temps. I have to guesstimate where to set the dial. For the timer, I set it about 5 minutes past where I need it to be, and then use my microwave timer for accuracy. This allows time to shake/turn food without having to reset the timer since it continues to run while the basket is removed.

There has been mention of the markings rubbing off on all brands of analog control air fryers including the Cook's Essentials, but I don't see how it could happen on this one. There is no need to touch any part where the writing is. There's no need to even really "clean" that area either as I don't see how anything would even get on it that would require more than just a light wipe at best.

Even with its shortcomings, I would purchase it again in a heartbeat, because the pluses far outweigh the minuses, and I'm very glad I chose this one.  If it were digital, it would truly be the perfect air fryer.

Re: Air Fryer recommendations?

I bought the smallest Cook's Essential, because I live alone, and also don't have a large counterspace. I hesitated for a year, and finally bought one. I'm so glad I did,and I Love it.Also buy a lot of seafood and chicken from QVC,and love that too. There are gobs of people on the web, making things and giving lessons, it's the new thing, after thr microwave.

Re: Air Fryer recommendations?

@Sue98, I'm not here to recommend an air fryer because I have no idea what you need. I will say bought the recent TSV (CE 3.4 qt,) and love it, but I didn't want a big machine--this one takes up more than its fair share of countertop space. Plus, I'm a danger in the kitchen and have no intention of using it to produce gourmet meals, lol. I can say it works perfectly for what need and I'm happy with it.

My reason for posting is just to mention something I saw on TV the other night. It was the Power Airfryer OVEN. It has three separate levels for cooking multiple things simultaneously. It's a dehydrator as well as a rotisserie. It's nothing I'll ever want or need, but for the right customer it looks pretty awesome.
