My hubby makes a production of everything. He can boil water, grind coffee and make beans. He spends hours cooking beans, just as he spent hours grinding and making coffee. I solved the coffee problem... I bought him a Keurig so I could play with it. In any case what device, product, cooker might cook beans quickly... Not fancy beans, not flavored beans, JUST BEANS and for me the GADGET QUEEN perhaps makes something more fun to eat.
Pressure Cooker? Rice Cooker? Anything. I have about had the bean thing.. married almost 50 years and I think I have had enough. ![]()

A pressue cooker will cook beans pretty quickly!

IMO beans only taste good if slow cooked. So I always use my crockpot to cook them.

thanks, now to find the right pressure cooker. When I was a kid my father came home from work, asked my mother what was for dinner. She looked up at the ceiling and the the chicken was on the ceiling. The pressure cooker exploded. I will never forget that.
Are pressure cookers safe, because obviously hers was not.

Get the Instant Pot! It has a staineless steel insert and 7 functions. Check it out on YouTube. A gadget person will love it!

Like most things, the technology has been updated and they are much safer now.

Back in the day, I remember more than 1 pressure cooker 'ceiling' meal too, LOL!
But, I agree with Chynna, the pressure cookers today are much more advanced and much safer than the ones used in ceiling meals back then!

Yes, I had one spray the kitchen with black bean soup! That was many moons ago, but it certainly stuck in my memory! They are quite safe now!

Right behind you @Lacey1 and I couldn't agree more. You will love this pressure cooker as it is so easy to use and will be able to make so many yummy things in it. This week I am going to make split pea soup . . . so easy and so delicious!
