I have watched several presentations of Ming Tsai's induction burner with pan Today's Special on HSN.

It was not until tonight that I heard mention that if you don't like the burner and return it you can KEEP THE PAN.

I understand why they waited so late in the day but wow, that is a first for any of the shopping channels that I've heard about.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

Re: A Shopping Channel First?

I actually broke down and ordered one today. I wonder if that is in writing some where in case we don't like it after we get it.

Re: A Shopping Channel First?

I was doing really well resisting until I caught the part of the demonstration where Chef showed two pans side-by-side on the burner.  I decided then that I needed to upgrade and caved.

I don't know if it is in writing, I did not hear that until the nine and ten o'clock shows.

I can understand the delay in announcing that because they likely suspected (justifiably) that if they started off the day with a "keep the pan" announcement they would have sold out very early and had a lot of returns.

I was looking at the online manual that came with this item and also doing an internet search to see if it's sold elsewhere (for reviews).

Found one Nu-Wave Ming Tsi induction burner - an older model. And from the manual, see that it's made by the same company that does Joy Mangano stuff. Ingenous Designs LLC

Re: A Shopping Channel First?

I purchased Ming Tsai's TSV  induction burner with pan during a morning presentation.  I've wanted one for a long time and I know he has good products.  No mention was made about keeping the pan if you don't like the burner and return it.  I also watched the 9pm show with Suzanne Runyan and that's when they started saying you could keep the pan.  I was really surprised.  My immediate reaction was that this was a bad decision.  There are unscrupulous people who would make the purchase just to get the free pan (which, by the way, is quite nice -- just got an extra pan today, burner still not delivered).  I also thought it made it sound like they were desperate to sell the burners.  Just thought this was very odd.
