@donnabgood  They’re outta their minds charging that. I’ve tasted her food. It’s all brand and hype, but no taste. By the way, “natural flavorings” or “natural seasonings” listed in ingredients can mean monosodium glutamate (msg), nitrates or any other bad ingredients. The FDA allows manufacturers to list bad ingredients this way now. Unless it says what the “natural ingredients” are, assume manufacturers are hiding something. Martha made a point of saying no bad things in her ham, but I don’t think she even knows what those “natural ingredients” are in her own ham. I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt on this one. I don’t buy anything unless they list what those natural ingredients are, individually. Reputable companies will list ingredients individually, but those items are sold in stores like Whole Foods, Sprouts.....or in the healthy food section of the grocery store.

I asked customer service how they can justify that price and they told me they have no answer? So we know they choose to triple mark up the ham? Would be getting my money. Shame on you QVC for charging this amount of money and shame on you people for buying it.  If no one buys it than they would be selling it anymore.

@tockerman  Why would we shame a store for what they charge or shame anyone for what they buy?  Unless someone is forcing you to buy one, that's what personal choice is all about.

I understand thinking something is priced too much and is absurd, but I don't understanding shaming people for either what they charge or what they buy.

They will charge what the market will bear.  Evidently people are buying the ham or they would not sell it or have it at a lower price.  Just last night on ITKWD they were selling already prepared meatballs for a ridiculous amount, I would not pay that price but obviously someone is.

I am shocked at the number of posters here that think their food prices are ok.  So if they want to pay that much its their money.  I for one will not.  Maybe, Im just an old skinflint! ((grin)).

@Sooner No one is shaming anyone. We are commenting on hams. The price of which is comparable to Neiman Marcus which is ridiculous at QVC. If you think the ham is reasonable say so. We are not talking about people here, but hams. As far as I know a ham has never been shamed. Lol!

@Ketra I didn't see the presentation or buy one.  But some people did, their choice, their money.  I'm sure we all buy stuff all the time that others think are stupid purchases.  However, If you read above, a poster said, and I quote:

"Shame on you QVC for charging this amount of money and shame on you people for buying it. "

@Sooner Thank you for your concern, but I won’t ever need to buy another car again.

I bought the best quality car I could afford, with the best warranty. I don’t mind paying more for something of quality and value.

The price of that ham was not out of line with what one would spend at someplace like Dean and DeLuca.

There were numerous threads about how outrageous the price of the Martha Stewart turkey dinner TSV was at Thanksgiving. I bought that meal and was pleased with the product. Sure, I could have made it from scratch for cheaper, but I enjoyed the convenience factor.

While you may not see the value in the product, clearly someone else does. QVC spends enough airtime on food that plenty of people see value in the offerings.
