Wow Martha Stewart selling a 7-8 pound ham for $160, WTH really? Martha is not rich enough? In the Kitchen With David/QVC you should be ashamed of yourself! I have been watching QVC since the beginning & this is ridiculous! I almost cut up my Q card.

They aren't here to do customers favors.  They are here to make money.

I asked customer service how they can justify that price and they told me they have no answer? So we know they choose to triple mark up the ham? Would be getting my money. Shame on you QVC for charging this amount of money and shame on you people for buying it.  If no one buys it than they would be selling it anymore.

almost every food item QVC sells is overpriced IMO. I can get the same things locally at much less.

However, in their defense, these are not items that are a staple, or something we need. They are items considered gourmet and some people may want to treat themselves to something once in awhile. I personally would not pay that much for a ham but maybe if I was having a big gathering and wanted to splurge, I would on one occasion knowing that if my guests complained and the ham was awful I could get my money back. So there is really no risk of buying food from them for that reason.

I also wouldn't pay $60 for meatballs they sell, I can get mine at a local Italian grocery store, made fresh daily for $4,99 a pound.

I do think that knowing Martha and her reputation, she would not put her name on anything unless it was the best of the best. Watching that woman on tv, you just know she nit-picks every, single thing and would demand nothing less than perfect. So, who knows? Maybe whoever she picks to be her food vendor(s) really does raise or bake the best of the best.

Re: $160 for a ham?

[ Edited ]

If you're looking for a good mail-order ham and you're a Costco member, check the array of gift cards available at Costco, and you can get a discounted (25 percent) card for any items from  the HoneyBaked Ham Company.

If you have a HoneyBaked store near you that is anywhere near as good as the one near me, I highly recommend their take-out sandwich, salad and crowd-sized side dish items, plus frozen ham bones and other ingredients  for pea and bean soups,.etc

I woudn't tend to  buy a whole or half ham from them, because we can get good spiral-sliced ones elsewhere.

I'm a big fan of shopping Costco's gift-card racks for discounted gift cards for many different restaurants and local businesses.

LOL, it's mostly ridiculous to freak out over Q's food prices.   Anything edible here has always been over the top expensive.
