I vote for the pear shape, my favorite. I’m surprised it only has 5 prongs. My 1.5 carat has 6

I like round stones also, nothing wrong with what you show here.  I'm sure your set will look very nice together.

I don't like the shape of the pear.  It is too "fat" and almost round.  I would prefer one longer with a more elegant look.

 

The emerald cut is fabulous!  They have to be top quality stones for that cut because it shows everything.  I'll bet it costs a lot more than the pear one!

 

My ring is princess cut and I love it!

Emerald cuts always need a high-quality piece of rock to start out with and they usually cost more b/c of that. It's very difficult to hide flaws in step-cut stones.
