clearance inventory

I often look at the clearance items first...especially the jewelry. I do not understand why QVC does not have a day where all clearance jewelry would be an additional 20% off! There are 2512 items and there are multiples of each item in the warehouse. 53 pages in total of items not selling out and keeping new inventory out. I think I have seen pieces at the same clearance price for years...I don't get it. I used to control inventory in furniture stores and it gets marked down until it is gone! Maybe that is one reason we see so much "Fresh From The Fair" pieces where the order is taken and then they will come...usually 3 months later! Weird way to conduct a business.
