Re: WATCH COLLECTORS---FEBRUARY 2017

Jena:  thanks for posting the pic of your black spinel SAN I. I'm glad you love it.  Seeing your pic motivates me to have mine sized so I can wear it too.

Java:  congratulations on your new abalone watch.  The dial is stunning.  I'm so glad that it came to life when you removed the plastic wrapping.  I've always loved the look of rectangular or square dials, and paired with the abalone,  your is a standout.   I think I need to put it on my wish list.  Enjoy your new watch.

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS---FEBRUARY 2017

Thx Java.  I smiled when you said "slab of abalone".  That has a nice dial.  It looks great on you.  This abalone is great, how many do we need of it?  Lol.  With the Excursion, and others, the dials are fantastic.

Its funny, LJ, my neighbor who says she has enough watches, after putting my Spinel on her wrist, now says when the price gets back to under $300, she wants one....it is a striking watch.  One that I would never have snagged if it weren't for you.  You are not good for my credit card. Smiley Wink

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS---FEBRUARY 2017

Thanks, ladies.

I put it on the black  strap and it has quite a different look. I was beginning to wonder if I shouldn't have gotten the gold, which must look even better. I think the gold tone would be too warm against my skin. 14K is ok; 18K is not. I don't know what it is about cameras, but the watch, though large, looks a bit larger. This must be really nice in the MOP.

I wasn't thrilled with the price, but then I realized that this would probably never get to be that cheap. I think they purposely didn't make that many and that is probably why their prices have gone up.

When I have time, I will post a pic of it in the black strap.

Re: WATCH COLLECTORS---FEBRUARY 2017

Glad to help Jena. Smiley Happy  You might want to show your neighbor  the picture of the other version.  It was a little less expensive and she might catch a sale on that one also.   You can tell her the differences so she can make an informed judgment.  Both are really very striking.  I think the SAN I is a better quality piece,  but the movements are the same.

[ Edited ]

Jut noticed they put some clearance prices on some of the ladies SAN I.  I saw the TT and SS San I abalone for under $200,  a JT San I, and a pink dial/pink strap for even less.

Also found a SAN III on a leather strap with mop dial for well under $200.... Swiss movement!
