Actually, I think this is a further deterrent to purchasing here on the Q...they were doing so well with the reduced shipping trial period and now they pull this very annoying move...sorry, bad idea QVC!!

Holy Shipping Charges, Batman! I just for the fun of it added a regular ring - black spinel - to my cart and the shipping is $6.97!!!! The TSV today is $8.72! I think this is really going to help my out-of-control spending.

Some websites base your shipping on the total amount of your order so they add the charges at the end. I understand that. Unless QVC is going to do that they need to show the shipping charges.

So, I put one item in my cart and no S&H showed up. I added a second item (a former TSV I knew had $5 shipping last week) and it showed the shipping cost for each individual item. I never had to ask it to do a special calculation. The TSV that had the S&H of $5 last week is $6.72 today. So the S&H does show as you add things to your cart.

I'll also add that many sites don't show shipping until you're ready to check out, so I don't think this is anything extraordinary. I know a few were you can't see shipping until you enter a zip code and click a calculation.

I don't like this change, but it's not out of line with most retail sites. As long as they continue to display it on the on-air presentation for people who will be calling in, it's certainly not the end of the world.

If I charged as much as they do for shipping, I would be ashamed to post it too!

They have been raising prices for some time...if the shipping doesn't drop and they raise it also they will be losing a lot of customers including me.

I really liked it when the shipping charges were a flat rate. They need to do special shipping, free shipping, combined shipping whatever. paying $7.00 or so to ship a tee shirt is too much. The prices are not great most of the time either.

Except QVC doesn't calculate shipping based on zip code. I agree with other posters, I think it's an attempt to make shipping costs less obvious.

Ridiculous... I guess they think they can run, but they ought to know that they sure can't hide... What ARE the suits running this place thinking? Honestly, every aspect of this operation just seems to sink lower and lower.

True. So now the shipping is back to their regular high prices plus they are raising the prices on items from $1.00 to even $5.00 (and maybe more) on some items. (I don't mean when an item is no longer a TSV.)

You can also see shipping costs if you scroll down on the item page to "estimated delivery dates" and the various shipping charges with the ETA date.

DH works in IT. It would be easy to remove all of the codes when they went back to the normal shipping charges, and it would not be an enormous fix to reinstate them; however, it also could have been done deliberately. It's interesting that the "best standard shipping" rate has jumped significantly...for example, $9-$10 to ship a $135 ring.

They still show the charge on air.

They also could be experimenting with free shipping or periods of reduced shipping to see if people bite and end up buying more as a result of these "offers." In the end, there is no such thing as "free" shipping.

We'll see what happens in the next couple of days.
