Something on this network finally intrigued me. The Oromio (probably spelled that wrong) is a gold tube of metal over a silver tube of metal.  I only caught a little of the show, but Heather said the gold was 30 microns?  I thought Vermeil was 40 microns plated on sterling.  Can someone help me with this?  I did order the ring since I loved the style, not becaus it was in this new technique.

i copied this from the website:

OroMio is a brand that offers a new manufacturing process of gold jewelry which gives long-lasting durability and an affordable price. It is a special technique patented all over the world. A silver tube is set into a gold tube in a ratio of 10 to 1 (with a solid inner copper tube to temporarily hold the shape). The gold layer corresponds to 30 microns of gold. Once the copper is removed from the inside, the structure of the jewelry piece is set. The two tubes of gold and silver are then lasered together. The resulting piece of jewelry is unique in its exceptional beauty, cost, and resistance.

It sounds like just another gold clad, coated method to me.

I've designed and made jewelry for over 25 years and have never heard of the possibility of this technique. Sounds like a fishy explanation to me.
