New Jewelry Box - Strong Odor?

It is beautiful, but when I opened the lid there was a very strong chemical/plastic odor and the same thing when I opened the drawers. Has anyone else had this problem? I have her first jewelry box and I like the design of this one better. I would hate to return it, but I can't stand the odor and don't want my jewelry to smell. I have the lid and drawers open to air it out and hope that helps.
