Re: Kennedy Collection - Did I misunderstand Sandra?

What's so sad about it? The company he represents has made a fortune and now the demand for it has dwindled. The women who remember that era have heard the stories and seen the snap shots a zillion times, they've purchased the items they want. The line had successful run for many years on a couple of shopping channels. Now it's time to say good night folks....

Re: Kennedy Collection - Did I misunderstand Sandra?

It is very sad they are not coming back. I have ordered and watched since the beginning and have enjoyed all the stories Mr. Katz relates to us. I have a large collection of this jewelry and love to tell the stories about each piece. I will miss Mr. Katz with his great stories and personality. Thank you for giving us this great line of jewelry.

Chrystaltree, people will miss the shows because they admired and remember Jackie fondly, and because Mr. Katz is low-key and informative, hype-free. Doesn't tell viewers, "It's only a dollar a day." Because it's something many have enjoyed over the years, much more than most other presentations. It's an interesting program.

Re: Kennedy Collection - Did I misunderstand Sandra?

I, for one, do not want to say goodnight folks. Sad is a strong word to describe how I feel, but I will miss this jewelry and the shows. One of the few shows left on QVC that I still enjoy watching, even though I know it is true that the vendor sometimes got the facts wrong, or sometimes painted a picture of a Camelot that existed only in our niaviity (sp?) of those times. I am on a limited budget and have always wanted to purchase much more than I could afford. Wish I could place a huge order now with all of the clearance, but I will be left to love the cherished items I do own. Guess there's always ebay.

Well said, happygal!!!! A lot of us enjoy these low-key shows and I enjoy Mr. Katz also. I don't post on these boards often and it's mainly because of people like "Chrystaltree" and their comments. I don't like the drama, so I mainly just read. Thanks again for your positive comments.

I heard that too. He also stated that the last factory in the Czech republic has shut its doors and they only received one half of their inventory of pearls. He said that he cant imagine selling his product without the pearls. That being said, I will miss him too. He was a wealth of information and I loved the stories. Cant say that I am a Kennedy aficionado, however, I love hearing the history. Big event of our time. I just recently purchased a book, "JFK and the Unspeakable by Douglass." I am looking forward to reading it.

It looks like they've added "Retiring Style!" to all Kennedy jewelry items. Not the non-jewelry items (scarves, etc.), so I wonder if those will continue.

Re: Kennedy Collection - Did I misunderstand Sandra?

A few years ago the people in authority (I assume that's the Kennedy family) put a stop to all reproductions of crosses because they thought it was too "personal" (I believe that's the word that was used). I had the feeling then that it would some day come to this.

I usually bought these pieces as gifts for my family, (my sisters and niece), but I do have a few pieces myself. I always wanted that snake bracelet that was a reproduction of a Ptolemy museum piece, but I could never afford it. It was one of several pieces that Jack offered to Jackie, and that's the one she chose. I was always hoping they'd bring it back. Too late now I guess.

The lady certainly had good taste.

Women with class enjoy watching shows that represent a woman with class. Not much of that on QVC any more. Mr. Katz and his beautiful jewelry will be missed.
