Sad that so many people in this forum want to jump on a negative thread and "trash" the other vendor or the one they snub in favor of something positive. On 5/11/2014 Chi-town girl said:On 5/11/2014 cooking lady said:And isn't this thread and your comments "classy"? Hello!!!!!!!!Better than hers??? Hello? Give me a break!!! Dippy caller is right!! No class - referring to another vendor anyway!!
She speaks the truth . . nothing "un-classy" about that.
Snub.........??? Many of us own some of Jay's items, we are just discussing a call and comparing the 2 lines. Goodness.

That being the case, there is no comparison.
Just to answer the question and not to discuss Jay vs. Carolyn...
Jay used to design everything when he was just starting out. As the company grew and he traveled more he hired a designing staff. However, during one of his shows this year he did mention that a new piece they were presenting was his design. He mentioned that it was fun doing that again and wished he had more time to get back into it. I honestly don't remember the piece that they were presenting.

Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

QVC has gotten a lot better about screening out the nuts. HSN hasn't. I heard another wacko talking to him last night and just switched off. Allowing these calls isn't helping sales, its driving people away.

LOL! Sorry I missed that one. I've been asked lots of times to talk on the air on ShopHQ, but declined. (Their phone system for some reason wont let me change my credit card unless I talk with someone)........

The woman is entitled to her personal opinion. I happen to think that Jay King's jewelry is about 1000 times better than anything Caroly Pollack has ever bought to QVC.

Of course you are entitled to your opionion. A lot of people love Jay King (including yours truly) and a lot love CP equally. They offer different products. Carolyn's designs, however, cannot be compared to Jay's. I love Jay for his variety of rocks and Carolyn for her designs. Thank goodness we have both to chose from.

I have a few of Jay's pieces and they're nice, but just can't compare to Carolyn's - I own probably 200 pieces of hers. Just curious - how many of CP's pieces do you own, or is it just from watching QVC that you think Jay's pieces are better? I only ask this because I feel unless you've had several pieces from both designers, it's only an assumption - not really a true opinion.

He has an appealing "aw shucks" demeanor, and I enjoy his self-deprecating humor. One could say that any knowledgeable vendor's objective is to sell, but many are also clearly eager to provide information to the customer. It's up to the customer to judge how useful or accurate that info might be, and it seems as though you've formed a less than positive opinion of Jay's helpfulness. On 5/12/2014 GinaV24 said:It is always fun to watch the shows though - I learn a lot about the different "rocks" that he brings in.
No offense, but JK is the last person you should learn about "rocks" from. His information is based on what it takes to sell, not inform.
