I am so excited about the new Alaskan collection, and think these may be my favorite JAI desgins, so far!! I have been collecting John Hardy for years and think JAI looks more like the orginal John Hardy now, than John Hardy does. I love my every day pieces, I love my statement pieces, and I love stepping out of the box, on new designs, as I know they will be fabulous. JAI Jewelry has exceeded my expectations on every piece that I own. Thank you for your continued innovation, inspiration and beauty.

I spent a month in Alaska and I would say that moose, bears, eagles, sea otters, puffins, and salmon is what I saw the whole time I was there.
Horses would have been more appropriate for the American west in the lower 48 states not Alaska. I can't believe that JAI has no moose or bears they were everywhere when I was there.
Moose are really cool so much bigger than you would expect.

I am not a fan of this type jewelry with eagles, horses etc.

I thought the medallion shown on the "new" items page is very pretty but I will look but not shop. I keep reminding myself that I should wear what I have.

Me neither. My money is safe.

Not loving it either. This collection is more American West to me and I have never been a fan of that look.
It seems many here are into it and I hope they enjoy their purchases!! We can't all love everything.

I’m sure bears are coming individually. This collection is just getting started.
If you look again at these first pieces of the collection, you can already see bears appearing amongst the pines, snow-topped mountains, eagles and North Star imagery. This is definitely not the American West.
I absolutely love it!

I see a strong American West (horses, stirrup pieces) theme, what he calls equestrian, and, his Alaska pieces.

Yes, I get where you're coming from with that thought but maybe it's because I'm not
American so maybe I don't have the same automatic mental connection between horse imagery and the American West.
For me, horses and riders are all over the world and still in regular utilitarian use in less accessible places.
I'm also thinking of brands with equestrian imagery, eg Gucci, which I don't connect with the American West at all.
But yes, I think it's great that we can all see whatever we want to in these pieces.
I'm the same - some of these pieces won't represent Alaska to me either. When I was a child I adored Elyne Mitchell's Silver Brumby books and when I buy that horse pendant, he's going to be Thowra to me, and that's his herd on the other pieces!
