Re: Interchangeable and Magnetic Jewelry - Not a Fan

I agree, magnetic jewelry that is easy on is also easy off! I also think of it as cheap.

corvette mary, magnets are much harder to pull apart than put together. You are fighting the attraction they have to each other. Typically you have to insert something between them to easily pull them apart (with the newer-type magnets they are using.)

I don't have these yet so I'm hoping they are as strong as other magnetic jewelry I've seen recently. If so, and if I banged the bracelet hard enough to knock the insert out, I would probably break the stone. We shall see!

Re: Interchangeable and Magnetic Jewelry - Not a Fan

I'm not a fan of anything magnetic in jewelry. I recently sold a 14k Eterna Gold bracelet that I actually loved but hated the magnetic clasp. I wore it on my right wrist and it would pick up and drag anything remotely near it that was metal (like knives, forks, etc.).

Interchangeable (although initially a great idea) also has me backing off. No matter how strong the magnet, I've had the magnetic piece fall off....

So I'm not a fan....

Re: Interchangeable and Magnetic Jewelry - Not a Fan

I'm a fan of magnetic necklace closures. It seems that the clasps on necklaces are getting smaller and flimsier all the time. For an arthritic old lady like myself, those add-on magnetic clasps make it easier to get dressed. Now for a bracelet . . . nah, prolly not.
