I've been hitting the Gold Buyers shops yesterday when gold was at 1660, today, it's down a tad. I'm not budging till it hits 18-2000. They

don't give you that much because all the jewelry is now made so light weight and they pay by the gram wgt. A bangle I paid 300 for weighs 5 grams they want to give you 70 for. If I wait till it hits 18 and for sure 2000 I'd get 100.   They take your license information, no SS thank God!

You don't pay taxes because you already have paid taxes when you purchased it that's legal. They have to make sure anything your selling is not 'hot'. LOL  Even though the guy I"m talking to knows it's not stolen he still has to verify it thru the cops.

It's a 'scratchy' business. No way if I die could DH handle it. I'm keeping few pieces like Imperial Gold (LOL). Last time gold hit a high was 7 yrs ago and then it was 1600/0z. It's already beat that and I'm holding out for better then that.  People that have the old time heavy wgt. gold is the ones who will clean up.

At today's payout US Gold Buyers would pay you around $130 for your 5 gram bangle if it's 14k, better if it's 18K. You can't do much better than their payouts.

Yes. Many people on these boards have used them, as have I. They will send you a mailing label for you to take to Fedex - you don't have to pay shipping. They call within 24 hrs to give you a quote. I'm sure you know the weight of your pieces so you would know approximately what to expect.

The ones that will really make a bundle will be from gold that was bought say 40 to 50 years ago.  You will lose if you bought within the last few years and I hate to lose even though I have no one to leave it to. I still wear all my nice jewelry out and I live in a very low crime area.

I'm pretty sure they ship it back free. They're very nice if you call with questions. I have a small bundle to send also. Better a few thousand in my savings than sitting unworn.

@froggy   I know they send the label , do you use your own box and put the label on it ?  yeah, I'm not leaving my stuff for DH to dispose of I might as well get the gravy I paid for most of it anyway.

I'm holding out for 1800 at least, though

Not so much gold, but I have a LOT of silver I need to unload when the price gets a little higher.  Just because it's silver and I don't want it any more.

@SharkE  No. You take your stuff to FedEx and put it in the FedEx box yourself. I always put mine in a big brown envelope first and wrap the whole thing in bubble wrap before it goes in the box

They have detailed instructions on their website.
