off some gold when it hits high price ?
I'm debating it. Doesn't come along very often. On the fence, myself

I have no more gold to sell...

I’ve been thinking about it. Still have some to sell. Any recommendations on best way to do it?

Not me.
Although my thought process on buying gold jewelry has always been that it has residual value that could be converted to cash in a pinch, I've never done it, and don't plan to.
Pieces that I'm tired of or don't wear anymore I give to my sister or my daughter.

Prices have already started to fall at gold's open tonite, like down by $20.
We'll get some buying tomorrow. Wed, things will look more stable but we'll know the longterm outlook in about 2 weeks.

Yeah, with election yr and the present crisis in the East I've been hearing gold is gonna sky rocket.
I don't have anybody to leave it too. Sisters don't want it. You have to worry about stealing and paying insurance on it. think it might be best to weed out and cut your losses.
You won't get what you paid for it retail, lucky to get half at the gold buying shops. Not doing U any good laying around and DH wouldn't know what to do when I cloark. Might as well make some cash while it's at it's peak.

Check around. I had been going to an independent jeweler who gave a good price. He suddenly cut what he offered by 20% so I asked around and was referred to a pawn shop, another independent jeweler, and a shop that sells coins, guns, etc. The pawn shop and jeweler offered a pittance. The coin shop pays better than any other place in the metro area. Avoid chain stores.

I have very little to get rid of. I am not a fan of expensive jewelry because of incidents in the family that have made me shy away. Just to summarize. I accidentally "cut"my diamond ring on the sink faucet. I then put it away and it was stolen from where I stored it. Then my traveling mother was in Rio and was knocked down and her expensive necklace was ripped from her neck. And last but not least, my mother was having her diamond ring cleaned in Burlington Vt and when she got home my daughter who was at the time a gemologist checked it out an said it was "changed out" for a CZ.
All of this is to say... I would rather just wear my pretty costume versions and find something else to do with my vast monetary reserves LOL.

I have to agree with you @SharkE getting something now is better than waiting and taking the chance of getting nothing later when or if the prices drop. I have a lot of gold and other jewelry pieces that are just sitting around collecting dust. Since I don't have any girls to give or gift to I am going to eventually start to sell off.
