Has anyone had any of Judith Ripka's gold clad pieces for a long time? I'm curious about how well the plating wears. I love the look of the pieces, but I don't want to invest if they don't lost.

I have not had one of my Rose Clad JR pieces fade or lose color or chip. No issues at all. I can not speak for the Gold Clad as I do not own any pieces but the rose has remained as nice as the day I got it

No problem with the Gold Clad pieces that I have, either.

Thank you both. Have you had your pieces long? Do you wear them often?

I had only 2 pieces, and the gold on them started turning greenish. I had them in her own jewelry box, and I have had to take everything out of it that is not rhodium plated. I love the box, and everything fits perfectly. I put the older pieces in a different box so they won't tarnish.

My gold clad chronograph has worn well.

My neighbour has an early clad piece which she had worn faithfully every day. The clad has worn off in many areas -- she said she never takes off the bracelet (not even when she showers). I hesitated to buy any clad pieces until I realized that I ALWAYS take off my jewelry -- every piece is 'gently' worn so I imagine the longevity of the clad depends on how much wear and tear you expect.

Not one problem with my clad pieces. Love them. I do wash mine after each wear with a gentle dish soap, allow to dry over night, and keep them stored with a piece of Pacific Silvercloth.
