Gabrielle wore a smaller watch

I took note of it because of all the BIG women's watches today.  I just don't like them.

No, I don't want the kind my grandmother wore.  They were very petite and dainty.

But they mostly look like men's sizes to me now.  I will try not to buy anymore anyway, as I probably have enough.  Just my taste doesn't click with the men's look!

The watch she wore might have been her own for all I know.  Just wondering if they are trending a little smaller.  They have to change it up!!

Fossil makes both larger and smaller watch faces.  Their styles are always up to date.  I think many of the less larger faces can be found with the brand Bulova, Citizen.  They tend to be more classic.  Not too small.

At first I didn't like the big watches, and I still don't like the really big ones, but I love the smaller big watches. I have two,  made by Eclise, one gold tone with sleeping beauty face and one stainless steel, with tanzanite stones on each side. I love them because I can read my watch without my glasses on.

I remember reading about a trend to smaller watches. Not tiny but smaller than what's been in style for years.

Not sure if I can find it now. Been a while.

I'm tired of the big watches too.

This was the one I saw last spring

"Size Matters: Why Women's Watches Are Getting Smaller"

but when I just searched I see several articles about smaller watches in 2017.

Maybe we'll see more offered.

Re: Gabrielle wore a smaller watch

I wear everything and always kept a few classic sizes on hand. For about 20 years, I have worn men's pieces and the reason was that the women's were too small for my use.  I think there is a place for different kinds  and sizes of watches. The classics have never gone away. You just ahd to search them out and be willing to pay.

Am not surprised that women's watches (and men's) are trending smaller. It's not just about the Asian market. Let's face it: they want to sell us more watches and the way they do that is tell us that our watches are no longer "fashioable." It's like everything else.

Some women are more trend-oriented, others not as much. It's better to invest in a really good one that you can wear for many years.  Then you're not trapped in this "That's a man's watch! That's an old lady's watch. So dated."thing.

I have always liked large watch faces whether in style or not.

That's great.  You should be able to get what you like.

It's just that they seem to make all or none!  I find nothing wrong with variety, but they all seem monkey see/monkey do!

Or, they think they are forcing people into trends into buying new ones!!
