I haven't heard anyone really offer comment on this, but I for one really appreciate the fact that QVC has listened to the Ripkanistas regarding the shipping charges on JR pieces. While it is not a huge amount of money, every piece in her inventory (including clearance!!!!) is being offered with free s&h today. I hope this becomes a regular practice!

I noticed the free shipping too.....I think it is great and I hope it continues! Let's hope JR isn't the only line that begins to offer free shipping...

Never fear, the shipping is factored into the price.

kachina, I have no fear of pricing...her clearance items, some of which were significantly reduced, were included in the free shipping offer.

Well, I really don't think shipping is factored into the price... not for that purpose.... I have studied Marketing Strategies all my life and QVC gets a baulk fee on its shipping but we could get in a real lengthy detailed discussion on pricing strategies. Any successful marketing strategy is done for good will purposes, mostly. If it doesn't succeed then you as a company have failed. That is what QVC does so well. A shout out to the marketing department on this one! For example that is why I purchased the TSV... There is always "loop holes" or grey areas in these strategies and CS at QVC does a pretty good job navigating this. You never want to "hassel" a customer over a marketing strategy over a few dollars. Again, its all about goodwill! That is the key and is why some TV shopping networks are not doing well. The strategy also needs be simple and hassel free. QVC again does this so well!

Thanks for the thread, Smarty! I also appreciate it!!! Judith really tries to please everyone, and you just can't please some (no matter what you do). Judith offers prices and values accross the board and really tries to listen to the customer. This marketing IMO was a success!!!!!!!

Pamula, very nicely said. Thanks

And Pepper, appreciation is exactly the right sentiment here...I felt a strong sense that the QVC team appreciates the Ripkanista as a customer and offered us this little "gift" of free s&h. On the bracelet I ordered, that resulted in over a $10 savings. I hope they continue to offer free shipping events. Sometimes that little extra is just what we need to push the submit order button!

Loved the free shipping and it helped me to make two JR purchases this time, along with the fact that they were both on EZ pay AND lunchtime specials. That's the only way I can afford JR pieces.

Shogirl, enjoy your pieces! And yes, the ez pays and large number of LTS were also greatly appreciated.

I agree completely - this was a very nice touch, and a pretty smart one. The small savings enticed me to buy a few extra things this time (so shaky is my willpowerSmile).

The cost of S&H, although small compared to a $300+ item, always annoys me. I actually like free shipping even more than ez pay, so this was a treat.
