First time posting on this forum but I came across a really fascinating interview on youtube.com with Joan Rivers. It's about 1 hour in length.
Hosted by a psychologist and Joan talks about Edgar, his suicide, her parents, her relationships with men, her self-image (which is the low of the lowest) and lots more. It's a very serious interview without any jokes.
If you don't like clicking on links in posts, then go to youtube.com and in the search box type in "shrink rap tony curtis". Sounds weird, I know but for some reason that is what the video is called.
Enjoy....I'd be interested in knowing your thoughts after you look at it.

Joan did not have an easy life. When she began her stand up routine, she played in some dives but continued to work hard to attain her goals. Edgar's death left a huge void in her life and Melissa's.
I find it very telling when you hear her own words. I always liked Joan; some of the language, not so much, but, always Joan.

Still miss Joan,

In the matter of her death: did Melissa or anyone else bring charges against the people who botched her surgery and killed her?
It seems as though Joan had a rather hard exterior but a warm heart.

Melissa sued and it was settled out of court. I do not know the amount.

It is said that Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is loosely based on Joan River's career.

I still miss Joan.

I can't imagine Joan would be allowed to open her mouth in this day and age. We don't laugh at anything now. I used to think she went over the top sometimes, but by today's standards?
