Can't Fasten Your Necklaces?

If anyone is having a hard time fastening necklaces, etsy is selling extra large necklace extenders by "Love Them Beads" with shepherd's hooks that have been great for me.

They had quite a few choices.

@ECBG  Thanks for the info.  I like necklace extenders in general, because it makes the necklaces more versatile to accomodate different necklines, layering and getting more use out of the necklaces.

You NEED the magnetic clasp converters-----just hook both ends to them and then the magnet takes over!!! You can find them anywhere--AMZ, ebay, --I have a bunch in silver and gold tone and even rose tone too. Don't cost much either!!!!  The small ones are for your lighter weight chains and the bigger ones for your heavier ones----they are also in sterling silver with the yellow/rose plating over or in the precious metals too---I buy the base metal--no one sees them. Have some with crystals on them too----easy peasy!!! they come in barrel shapes and in round shapes and with extra chain extenders on each side too

I just saw a nice gold bracelet safety chain in a Ross-Simon ad on Facebook.  If I had a gold magnetic bracelet, I'd be shopping for one.

@ECBG  Thank you for your post because I need lots of help lately. Received a beautiful sapphire and diamond necklace for Christmas and my daughter keeps asking why I don't wear it so I really need to get this problem solved.

I have heard of many magnatic clasps coming apart on bracelets and necklaces.

Nothing can come off with a shepherd's hook except deliberate unhooking.

@ECBG

i do have a few shepherds hook extenders and use them, but they can come apart from the necklace hook fairly easily, especially if you wear coats, sweaters, kimonos and are taking them on and off often. heidi daus does two styles of extenders.... a shepherds type of hook and a toggle closure.

i have not had issues with my magnetic jewelry or extenders. i still have and use magnetic jewelry pieces from heidi daus, joseph esposito, kirks folly, novica, baublebar, maria nicola, and more.

Re: Can't Fasten Your Necklaces?

@ECBG Thank you.  I have a larger neck, and the 16, even the 18" necklaces don't fit right.  I have looked for something like this, and this seller has lots for me to choose from.

I can now get the necklace I've been looking at, a Murano glass heart pendant.

Re: Can't Fasten Your Necklaces?

@sunshine45 , I also have magnetic clasps for some of my necklaces, but unfortunately I lost a very special thin chain, small heart pendant due to the magnet failing.  I'm sure the bigger magnets might have worked better, but the bigger magnets would have looked out of place on a dainty chain.
