A poster on I believe one of the Ripka threads described how she added oxidation using the boiled egg technique. I've done this too and had good success with it. You just put the jewelry piece in a small plastic bag with a peeled and cut open hard boiled egg. Check it frequently and turn occasionally until the degree of darkness you desire is reached. It usually takes a couple hours or so.

Most all my Bixby items tarnish pretty quickly .... I just opened the RIPKA tarnish -free jewelry box..... all the Bixby is tarnished. Not sure you need to do the egg trick.... seems to turn on it's own. I did get the OTO turq ring by Bixby and noticed the ring was shinier than usual.

As far as my ripka , it does not tarnish in the ripka jewelry box. I think because of the coating used on her pieces. Even my FRITZ humming bird cuff is covered with tarnish. The best anti-tarnish boxes for me, have been Colleen's jewelry boxes.

I just ordered 2 of Colleen's jewelry boxes yesterday based on all of the recommendations on this forum. Can't wait to receive them!
