You seem to be very pleased with the money you recoup- and I know there have been several discussions on the board that mention it is very hard to do that on the bay or consignment stores. Thank you in advance
In 2007 I started the first Ripkanista luncheon group, we have been meeting monthly since. We buy and sell and we always price items a little lower than cost no ship, tax etc. unless the item is new and before returning a Ripkanista will sell to another.
I have sold on the Delphi/Judith Ripka Forum and eBay. The fees are outrageous but if I can't sell at these other places I sell Bay. JR is oversaturated with over 4,000 pieces on eBay so years ago I could get a good price but now unless I practically give it away with free shipping too I have to relist and relist. Once I decide something goes, I will work to sell it and have it gone! That's just me.
What I am most disappointed about is that the JR2 pieces used to be of value and they fall into the same category as JRQ. No one wants to pay more for them because JR is everywhere from all the flash sale places, outlets in Florida, etc. Of course, I am not sure any jewelry brand will fetch a great price on the secondary market. I used to think of JR and other designer jewelry as having cache and that it would hold its value not only to sell but to pass down.
But, no one should ever buy jewelry thinking it is an investment. it is for pure joy and an emotional experience. It is so easy to go down the slippery slope especially when JR comes so frequently and we are all such enablers on this board! Before you know it you have many thousands tied up in jewelry. In the last few weeks I have sold over $5000 and I lost money on every transaction. That kind of $$ can pay for a fabulous vacation, toward an education, etc. I think if women were honest about what they own, count the pieces and add it up even with rough numbers they would faint.
No one can wear all that jewelry!
I have a friend who has at least 600 pieces of BB, Konstantino, Scott Kay, JR and Italian gold...that could buy a house!!
Anyway, you asked what time it is and I told you how to make a clock but I am on a tear right now and it is very freeing! Be well and good luck "liquidating" if you are so inclined!

Time will tell if this ring is the June TSV or not. I still like her jewelry & wear it often. So does my daughter. To each their own..................

Waterbaby, I have also liquidated my large JR collection. I paid for my daughter's masters program with proceeds from the sales. I do not miss the pieces at all as I kept ones that truly spoke to me. It's been a while since I purchased anything due to the high prices.

I find myself watching the shows, and see some stunning items, but I think the prices have gone too high. If i buy a piece I want to feel good about it - and not be mad about the cost. Over the years, I have actually had 2 packages arrive at my house.....with no items in the pouch, so quality control is lacking.
I would love to liquidate some of my pieces but not sure where to go. Is the bay the only place to do this?

I have quite a few Ripka pieces from years ago that I wear regularly. Some gemstone rings I turn to over and over, they are simple classics. But the ring I wear almost daily and get compliments on from total strangers is the small, simple, and inexpensive (I think it was around $30) round 3 stone dmq ring from over 10 years ago. People assume that it is real. Some think it is David Yurman. It is a workhouse of a ring.
I buy JR rarely now. It is too expensive for the amount that I would wear it, and frankly, I am looking for more unusual things like Alexis Bittar that don't break the bank and really go on sale, or pieces made locally. I did buy the dmq hoops that were a tsv last year because I thought they were pretty and I wear them a lot.
Not sure about this ring. It looks kind of busy for me, but maybe on a finger it would be better?

Right now I am not crazy about this TSV.
I wish they would have had a picture of someone wearing it. That would give me a better idea of whether I would like it or not.....It does look like snake heads! LOL!
