SAMs always offers excellent extended warranties at great prices....we had a pressure washer and bought the extended warranty...it broke within 3 years...brought it into SAMs and they replaced it with a new machine AND they gave us 3 additional years coverage on the new machine...no extra payment needed from us. I would think a TV purchase would work the same way Smiley Happy

actually BB is 199.99 for 5 years and square trade $145.99 for 4 years.

do most get extended warranties for these big screens?
I have NEVER bought and extended warranty for anything but with how much technology has changed, i do not know if it is a worth while thing to do.
some say, if you need a warranty then your product must not be all that good.

so the almost $200 I save would almost pay for the warranty

Would the 20% savings cover the price of an extended warranty? Also have to agree with lolakimono - go through ebates or mr rebates for money back. Enjoy the new TV!

Personally, I would check Costco out (both in store and online). Their return policy is the best. Also if an electronic item has a one or two year warranty, Costco adds another year free (if you use the American Express Costco Card).

will check sams again and costco (not a member though).
tried the 20% coupon for best buy and it does not work for tv.

have a friend who is member so will see whose price is better>

does walmart honor like sams since they are sister stores?

well, sams has the same one as costco for the same price. $1 cheaper but also includes a wall mount. never know when I might need that.
so just may go that route"
thanks all

I don't know about Mr. Rebates because I use Ebates. Ebates sends quarterly checks so, no, it doesn't come right back to you and it's not a lot of money (1% from Best Buy)but it is something and if you are going to order online, why not use it? Good luck

Edited to say that Sam's Club offers a 1.5% rebate through Ebates.

thanks everyone. I really do not order all that much online and after more research (no coupons) sams club seems to be the cheapest and i can pick up in store. no one here to sign for deliveries.
now to decide if a warranty should be bought

I don't order much online either, but, over the last 2+ years, I have received about $14-$15 from Ebates which is just money found and it is so easy to do. Many of the stores offer 2-6% rebates with occasional specials and sometimes useful coupons. Even when I order a $4.99 Nook book, I use Ebates b/c it all adds up.

Enjoy your new TV!! My brother in law has a 50" TV and it is spectacular to watch sports on.
