@10sluvr Yes, we have the earlier version and they are wonderful!!   I did order more.  A few days ago just at dusk our power went out.  We had them in 2 lamps and used those bulbs to have light and even though we never used the other 6, 4 of them had a charge to use as flashlights.  Several neighbors called and thought we had power.  We showed them the bulbs and they ordered them.

I've bought these several times, and yes, they do work.

The very first ones we bought seemed to stay lit much longer in the power outage than the newer ones do. The old ones would give off some light like six plus hours after the power went out. The new ones only seem to last about four hours for me now.

STill, a great thing to have and give you plenty of time to get something else going, like the generator, or some flameless candles etc.

I gave these as gifts this year for Christmas, and they were well received.

Pook - you reminded me of a comment my brother told me. They bought the lightbulbs. They lived in a rural area and electricity was sketchy sometimes.

The electricity went out. They turned on a number of bulbs and went about their business. A bit later guys from the Electric Company knocked on their door. The guys said they were trying to fix a problem with the electric wires and needed all the electricity off. And they thought they had shut down all the electricity but can't understand how my brother's house still had electricity because their lights were still on.

My brother showed them the lightbulbs and everyone had a good laugh.

I've had these since they first came out and have them in four lamps.  Last year when we had a power outage they all came right on.  The power came on again quite quickly so I can't speak to how long they would have stayed lit.  A few weeks ago the power went out but they lights did not come on.  Again it was just a quick outage so I'm not sure if they are still working.

I thought about getting them, until read that they only stay lit for 4 - 6 hours.  I can certainly survive 4 - 6 hours with the flameless candles, flashlights, and lanterns that I have.  Now if they worked for a lot longer, to last several hours each day for several days or weeks, then I would have bought them.  But that is too much to ask.  A few years ago I was without power for two weeks.  I survived without a generator and too much inconvenience.

They are significantly larger than regular bulbs for many of my lamps.  Also I got the soft white but they are much "bluer" than my other lamps.  I tried to change all the lights in one area so they were all the same "color" but some lamps just could not take them.

I would not buy again.
