Have only had one coffee table years ago and it was in a hugh room where I had two sofas and a coffee table in front of one.  Now I just find them in the way.

Mom had coffee tables in the home where I grow up.

Yes, a small oval one.  This is mine:

Not anymore.  The one I did have became cumbersome  to get around for me as I aged, and it just a catch-all for whatever my hubby dropped there.  It belonged to my Dad who passed in 2016 and it was in his will for me to get it, but my two sisters sold the contents of his house instead of going by his will so I bought it.  I won't get rid of it so I put it in our upstairs hallway.

No coffee table for me.  I have a sofa and loveseat and used to have one but it just collected stuff that always needed to be put away, so it's in the guest room with a TV on it.

YES!  It's a kidney shape glass that was my MIL.  All of her grandkids learned to walk holding on to that table.  One grandson slipped and caught his chin and needed a couple of stitches.  Now I have been able to watch my grandkids learn to walk holding on to that table.  Anytime we have little ones around they hold on to that table and walk.  Many sweet memories.  And we can use it for drinks and snacks.

My mom had the same French Provincial coffee table from my youngest childhood until she passed. My grandmother had end tables. When I was first married I had a coffee table, rushed up from the sofa to answer the phone, and broke my big toe on it.

I have had end tables since then and no coffee table.

No - we had one, but our living room is small, so I donated it.  I do have two side tables on either end of the sofa.  Growing up, we always had a coffee table.

Yes, I absolutely have a small one.  I couldn't imagine my living room without one. It would look undressed.

No, but we do not use the sofa either. They both serve as decorative accessories to anchor the room.
