I bought mine from AMZ too--many years ago --got 6 for under $10, I think. I used them constantly intili they finally started to unroll--that was over 5 years at least.

Gosh, I got a set of dryer balls and they did nothing!

The static was SOOOOO bad !  Maybe our water is too hard?

Try wetting down the dryer balls. Not soaking wet, just damp. Should help with the static.

We've been using dry balls for about 10 years. I replace when they get too pilly, which is usually around the 2 year mark. Actually, my sister takes my old dry balls and removes all the fuzzies. She gets at least another year out of them. My first purchase was Nellie's Dryer Balls. I also tried Beekman's. Have to say, I don't find them any different or better than the less expensive wool dryer balls sold at Walmart. I paid less than $10 for 6 balls, 100% New Zealand Wool.

@bargainsgirl  I've only had mine for about a year, and they are working quite well. I have 7 of the wool and 2 of the rubber nub balls. I got them at Walmart. DD and DIL were very impressed with them when they visited this summer. They realized they could go without fabric softener. BTW, when they get loaded with fuzz from a new fabric, just run them on fluff for a while, and they will shed the fluff.
