I do not have many "extra" linens becauise I only buy them when I need them. However, I do have a couple blankets that I store in their original plastic zipped bag they came in on a shelf in my closet.
At our camper the mattress lifts up and there is storage under there for bed linens. They should have that in beds in homes too - fabulous amount of storage under that king size bed.

LOL...I was cleaning out a closet yesterday and found some blankets that had been missing for a while. Glad to have found them.

I used to store mine in the guest room closet with all the winter sheets, etc. Of course that got so crammed and it was a pain to get anything out of there that I had to reorganize. I now store a few throws in each room that we use them. I have a small chest or large basket or a shelf in the laundry room. It works out so much better and I'm not running up and down the stairs to grab a throw. We have dogs and they have their own throws that I store in wicker basket in the family .

I put mine in space bags in the back of my large bedroom closet.

SPACE BAGS are really great for blankets, comforters, sweaters, etc. They last a long time, if you keep sharp objects from them (like Cats).---------tedEbear

Gee I wish I had read your post when we were making the plans to my house I'm living in now. What a great idea!

I use space bags too. I like that it keeps things from getting dusty while stored.
Drawbacks for me, though, is that stuff comes out very wrinkled, and none of the bags I've had stay completely vacuumed down. They all expand, at least partially, no matter how carefully they are stored.
Still, I find value in knowing things are staying clean inside them.
