Re: Where Oh Where is that perfect lamp?

When our latest canine addition knocked our lamp over and the shade ripped to shreds I decided to go on the hunt to replace the whole lamp.  Like you, I just couldn't find anything I liked.  Every one I saw looked alike ~ sterile, boring, blah.  I checked out amazon and found a great table lamp designed like a birdcage.  The shade even has a bird on a branch design that you can only see when the lamp is on.  I didn't read through all the responses here but I would suggest amazon (if someone else didn't already beat me to it, lol)!

Re: Where Oh Where is that perfect lamp?

I decided on a lamp.

It's called Artemis Crystal Lamp by Robert Abbey.

Very clean lines.  I'm going with the darker linen shade.

I don't do *beach theme*, but the (partial) wall this will be centered in front of will be painted a coral color.

This was a hard decision.

Help me now with window dressings!

@Lucky Charm

Have you checked lampsplusdotcom?  I've purchased several Tiffany lamps from them and was pleased with my purchases.

Re: Where Oh Where is that perfect lamp?

I bought antique brass lamps for my living room in 1969 when I got married and still have them. They are still beautiful. When we moved to Fl. I bought antique brass ceiling fan/light and chandalier plus entry ceiling light to match them. I plan to have those until I die.

Over the years brass has come & gone in popularity but I think the antique brass is always attractive.

For our first anniversary DH bought me a small brass lamp with a capiz shell shade to put on the antique washstand in our foyer. When we moved to Fl. the salt air ruined the finish on that lamp - it looked awful, and it broke my heart. I decided I had nothing to lose to try to revive it so I chalk painted it. Turned out fabulous.
