Laura 14, You called it a new living space. I guess it depends on what the space is going to be used for.

@lolakimono You read my mind! I was looking at all of my pictures last night and I am going to arrange them on the floor to see how many I have and what it may look like on the wall and if it's enough.

@CAcableGirl2 I love that too! I am taking a day off work tomorrow. I am going to see if my Target has that in person.
@sweetee2 That space is where the living room furniture (couch and two chairs with ottomans) and tv will be but not on that wall. They will all be on the other side of the room and this wall would be on the right to the people sitting down.

@Laura14 I haven't read the replies but I would decorate the room completely before doing the wall treatment. Often times, the placement of your furniture will determine your wall groupings or treatments.
Pretty space.

@Laura14 I think.......get the furniture in and you'll know what to do. Purple is great! How about some whimsical wall art with lots of color?

Ope...I love lolakimono's idea with the posters and the wallpaper!!!!!

@MickD LOL! My mother would have a heart attack if I put Bessie the Cow in that room but I love your idea. I'm dying for color. All the gray and cream and black is very nice but I need my purple.
Some of the furniture is purple so I'll wait until it gets moved in and then decide. My bedroom is painted purple so I may be living in that room exclusively until I get the decorating done elsewhere.

For some reason I can picture a sofa table behind the sofa on this wall - sofa table with a big, chunky lamp, and then a very large metal or wooden clock on the wall behind the sofa table. You could always fill in other items around the clock later if you want more on the wall. A big chunky lamp and and some other large item would help fill up the space at eye level when sitting in the room and a large wall item like a clock would be a good balance when standing. I bet you could find a nice sofa table at a consignment or thrift shop in your area for a reasonable price, and a lamp would bring more light to the wall.
