Although we are quite a few counties away from Sheboygan, I agree is something the churches are doing. I might see if there is a diner we can stop at and ask the owner or waitress about the meaning.

Wish I could be of some help, but I'm stumped also.  So far, the kringle is but a memory this year.  Too many yummy treats during the holidays = no kringle in 2023.
